The new blogsite is up and running. I am still working on a few more modifications but please take a look at the new site and browse around. I hope everyone loves the new logo and color scheme as much as I do. I went with a blogsite theme instead of both a website and blog. I find myself looking at blogs more than websites, so it is a one stop shop at Studio B Photography. Looking forward to updating the new blogsite with some recent sessions. I will also be creating a Studio B Photography facebook page. I met this gorgeous family for the first time yesterday morning and was immediately welcomed by a spunky little 3 year old! Love it. She and I talked princesses (as my little 3 year old loves her princesses too), snacks and chapstick. All the important things to discuss when you are three.

A weekend full of adorable babies and wonderful families! 6 months ago I was photographing this family right after this little guy was born. He is as handsome as ever. I was happy to be invited back to do holiday photos for the entire family. Daddy and his boy.

Look who turned 7 months! I had the pleasure of photographing this family on several occasions, including baby S's newborn session. I was so excited to do her 7 month photos. As many photographers say, this is really the best age to photograph as they are just so happy (and they can't move around too much!).

A crisp fall morning, beautiful location and a great group of people makes for a great photo session. I met the V family a few months ago when I photographed T in the last few weeks of her pregnancy. I came back a few weeks later to meet their beautiful baby girl. This morning we met up and she brought along her two sisters and their families. They were a great bunch to work with.

I have had a weekend full of adorable families! Today I met up with this family and had a great time chasing the kids around as they helped me search for some great photo backdrops.

All three kids were amazing to work with as they were super cooperative, listened so well and had fun!

This beautiful little lady decided to surprise her parents by arriving 5 weeks early. Healthy and as sweet as can be. I met her yesterday and I can't believe what a little peanut she is. Her due date is actually next week!

These new parents work as an amazing team. It was really great to see.

You might recognize these adorable kids. I have photographed them for almost two years now. Mom called me up and asked if I could update some pictures for her frames. I assumed she also wanted to prepare for holiday cards as we did last winter, but she said she wanted some fun summer shots and then we would do pictures in the fall too! How fun. I think we managed to capture summer!

Thanks to their Daddy for suggesting we "toss" the kids up in their favorite tree! And I mean literally toss!

I met this amazing couple early this morning for N's maternity pictures. They were so great to work with and we had fun trying some fun poses. I would like to thank the owners of the beautiful Appel Inn in Altimont, http://www.appelinn.com/, for allowing us to use their property for the pictures. N and J were married at the Appel Inn almost 9 years ago. I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a wedding here just a few weeks ago. I was so excited to use their property again!

These soon to be parents are avid athletes. Both compete in marathons and J just finished a triathlon! N thought it would be cute to show off both of their bellies!

N was really excited to try this pose. I think it came out great. I love J's expression.

As we were standing by this wishing well, I couldn't help but think how lucky they are to have each other and now to have this long awaited baby arriving so soon. Their wish came true.
It was wonderful meeting you both. I can't wait for the newest addition to make an appearance!

I met this sweet family a few months ago when I traveled to Rochester to do K's maternity photos. I was happy to come back and meet sweet baby boy, J. Big sister was so sweet. She didn't want to have her photo taken, but we managed to get a couple of cute ones with mommy and her kids.

Big girl A was showing me her room and all of her stuffed animals.
This was the only time baby J was asleep. We had just a few minutes to capture sleepy baby pictures. Oh so sweet.

It was so warm outside. We had an easy time capturing some adorable outdoor shots.

Foamboard is a great product. I am not sure how popular it is, but it is my favorite way to display photos. I have sold foamboards to several customers who have also been very pleased.

I just had two of my personal images printed and mounted to foamboard. I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out.

I am ordering a gallery wrap for myself too. I am so excited. Pictures to follow.

I love photographing weddings. I especially love photographing the bride while she is getting ready. There is something so special about the anticipation. The room is always full of spirit.

Rarely do I ever post personal photos to my business blog. I am making an exception this time. My niece and nephew are in NY visiting us for a few weeks. I stole a few moments alone with my niece to take her picture around Lake George. I love the images and can't wait to get some of these enlarged for myself and the family.

This black and white image is my absolute favorite.

This one, below, is her favorite.

I remember looking at a picture years ago on display at the local mall (when I was a photo editor for my high school paper). The photographer took a picture of a lovely young child in a field of ferns. That image has been in my head for so many years. Imagine my excitement when I found this field of ferns. The lighting wasn't ideal, but we tried it out. I will have to try this one another time when the lighting is more appealing.

Yet another wonderful family celebrating the upcoming arrival of a new little one! I met this family this past weekend and couldn't be more happy for them as they anticipate the arrival of their third daughter. Daddy and I had a good laugh about all of the future weddings!

T was such an easy person to photograph. She looks amazing and is due in just a few weeks. Love the quiet moment in this photo.

I was happy to take this photograph for T as she made a request for this image. I know I say it often, but I really really really love when a customer is comfortable asking me for a particular image.

The weather hasn't been very cooperative for my latest sessions in the last few weeks, but the V family home is so beautiful and full of wonderful light and equally wonderful backdrops for photos.

They have two beautiful daughters. I asked the little ladies if they were going to help mom change dirty diapers. I got an instant response of "no" from both of them! Love hanging out with such fun kids! H is a stunner. She knew just how to tilt her head and pose for the camera.

This little lady is so adorable and she just adores her big sister. I am sure she is going to adore her baby sister too. Funny story about this little lady. She and my own daughter share the same first name. Upon further discussion, we discovered they share the same middle name. Cute, but no big deal. It is a great name and it works well together. But upon even further discussion, we chatted about our girls' upcoming birthdays. THEY HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY TOO!!! Same first name, same middle name and same birthday. Too funny! It would have been even more crazy had they been the same age, but this beauty is a little older than mine!

It was such a pleasure to meet and photograph this wonderful family tonight. They welcomed their little guy into the world one week ago. He was such a sweet little guy. Very wakeful and very strong. I was joking with mommy and daddy that he was "strong arming" me every time I tried to pose his little arm!

Big sisters adore their new baby brother. It was fun to watch them decide who got to hold him next. They requested this image. So fun.

Daddy requested this image. He saw it on my site and said it was his favorite. I love when customers ask me to do a particular pose. It makes me so happy to know that they will have something that they love.

I am a huge football fan also so as we were discussing football, I mentioned being a Penn Stater. Guess what I walked away with? A signed mini helmet (Kyle Brady '94 12-0 season!!!!). I am going to have to hide it from my mom and nephew (both huge PSU fans)! Thanks so much for the gift! Here is a fun shot of baby Sutton on a Brady jersey. This final image has special meaning to the family. Grandpa makes these fantastic baskets! The family wanted to show him just how special these baskets are. Kudos to big sister for helping to make this basket.

Last night I met up with this family at their home to capture some fun moments. Mom has a bunch of frames she wants to update with newer pictures. I think we got some cute ones. The big guys had fun showing me their toys and outdoor playset. The little lady kept up with her big brothers really well. I had a great time chasing after them all. Thanks for having me over!

Here are a few more fun shots from this past weekend's wedding. The ladies enjoyed a little bit of bubbly before getting dressed. The bride asked me to get a few photos of them in their fun t-shirts. Bride, Maid of Honor, Flower Girl. Cute! On a separate note, I have to give a shout out to this Maid of Honor. She took her job seriously...including running up 3 flights of steps at the Stockade Inn, not just once, but several times!

Adorable flower girl and bride to be. Little M loved to have her photo taken. She also had her digital camera with her and she was snapping away. A photographer in the making.

We had to get a picture of the hair! Miss I has the most amazing curls and the flowers looked amazing against her black hair.
The soon to be In-Laws popped over to the hotel for a quick visit. Great family.

Sometimes my favorite photos are just "the moments" captured when no one realizes that they are being photographed. This was one of those moments...right after becoming husband and wife.

Alright, on a side note, I kept it under 700 images! Steve was very proud of me. I was a little nervous when after taking all of the photos of the ladies getting ready, I realized I was already at 160 images! That didn't leave much for ceremony, formals and reception...

Stunning Wedding, Captital District Wedding Photographer

I have spent the last two weekends with such wonderful people as they celebrated the most special day of their lives. Yesterday Steve and I photographed a STUNNING couple at their wedding in Schenectady. Here are just a few photos that I couldn't resist posting. When I get back into town, I will post many more from this couple's beautiful wedding.

Here is the stunning bride as she finished getting dressed. I loved the light streaming through this window. Steve photographed the men as they were getting ready and I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph all of the ladies. We had a great time chatting and they were all so awesome. Many thanks to all of you for making my job so easy! I kept telling the bride how calm she was.

The church in Schenectady was absolutely beautiful. Steve was photographing the groom and I took this lovely lady over to the church wall. What an amazing background for this amazing beauty. My camera loved her and I barely had to instruct her on posing as she loved the camera too!

During the reception we snuck outside to take a few pictures. I turned the flash off and found the most amazing lighting under this beautiful lantern. I have so many favorite images from our little nighttime mini photo session, but this one struck me right away. The gorgeous bride was so enthralled with this lantern and I think it really shows in this image. Talk about "finding the light."

Saturday morning I hit the road with my friend and photography mentor, Steve, to shoot a wedding in Fort Plain. What a beautiful day with an equally beautiful couple. M and G were an amazing couple to work with. We spent a lot of time laughing and having a great time.

This fantastic couple already left for their honeymoon out of the country, so they won't enjoy their sneak peek until they return but I know the families are anxious to see some photos from the celebration.
I've said it before and I will say it again, I love it when one of my customers say that they love a particular shot that I took and would like me to do the same for them. M saw one of my past wedding photos of an engagement ring in a bouquet. She asked that I do the same with her engagement ring. My pleasure! What a beautiful ring! I love the first dance. The expressions are priceless. I LOVE IT!! Cake smash at its best.Let's get this party started!!!!

Love it when the suit jacket comes off and the relaxing begins!!

There is a photographic technique to get this "spinning" look. Setting a low shutter speed and spinning my camera creates this fun effect. The ladies are having a good time and it looks like fire is shooting out of the bottle!!! Funny story, just before this particular shot, I was taking another picture of the bridal party dancing using the same technique....lets just say that the picture resulted in an R rated image- purely innocent on the part of the ladies! Needless to say, that photo will stay out of the sneak peek! Hysterical!

This morning I visited with the G family for the second time. Baby S arrived 4 days ago and to say that she is so adorable is an understatement. What a little beauty. Add the big sister and it is adorableness overload!

While I was in Rochester yesterday to photograph the D family and their new baby boy, I got to meet this beautiful family also! The two dads are brothers. This family is anxiously awaiting the birth of their second baby and wanted to capture of few family photos before the new addition arrives.

I have had the pleasure of photographing the P family for several years and I finally had the opportunity to meet S's sister and her family yesterday. I hit the road early in the morning and drove to Rochester to meet this beautiful family and to photograph their new baby boy.

Words cannot express what fun it is being in the presence of these two sisters. They have the happiest and most fun spirit of anyone I know. I told my husband when I got home that you can't help but be happy when you are with these two ladies. Thanks for making my trip so fun.

Here is an adorable image of mom, dad and baby H. Big sister was still napping. Many thanks to daddy for helping out with the girls while mommy, S and I were working with the baby.

Tiny toes. I never get tired of this particular image and most of my customers request it!

Who can resist two little babies? Not me! The sisters had babies about 3 months apart. It seems like just yesterday I was taking baby A's picture, now she is a happy 3 month old. She and baby H were sucking their thumbs in this shot. So cute.

There is a story to this particular "airplane" image. I was thumbing through a magazine and saw an advertisement (for women's razors of all things). It was a mother and child playing airplane. I thought, why not add the newborn...and we came up with this adorable, candid, fun shot!! You never know where inspiration will strike!
This little guys stayed asleep the whole time! It is a good thing mommy likes sleepy baby images.

I will end the sneak peek with this particular image. I love it when customers have ideas for what they want. The sisters found an image online that they absolutely loved. As we were sitting down for lunch, they showed me the image and I said lets do it. I think we got it. I see a huge panoramic size of this somewhere in their home. What a cool, unusual, and very "artsy" image. Love it!
It was so nice to finally meet you D family. I have had an amazing time photographing your sister and her family for the last several years! Hopefully I will be seeing you again soon too. Best of luck with the new baby and with all the wonderful things that come with being a family of four.

One of my customers ordered several 16x20 prints from her recent maternity and newborn sessions. The snapshot I took of the print doesn't do it justice. This will be a great size for her new wall display. Can't wait to deliver the image to her. This was my favorite image of the three beautiful B kids.

Happy Mother's Day

My friends celebrated Mother's Day with a brunch with their family. I told K to give me a call when they returned home so that I could take a few family photos of them for Mother's Day. I was so happy to discover that the rest of the family wanted to join in the fun. It was so nice to see the family gathering on such a special day.

I rarely have the opportunity to play around with macro photography. I love it and I adore some of the beautiful fine art images I see all over the Internet and in the books I read.

I was inspired by the beautiful flowers that are starting to bloom all over the area and decided to try photographing something out of my comfort zone. I took the picture this morning right after I picked the daffodils from my garden.

I think it is a very unusual picture. I love it and I am going to get a huge enlargement of it...I just need to find a big wall space for it.

Recently I have had the wonderful pleasure of photographing several beautiful women as they anticipate the birth of a baby. Today I met another one! Lovely J and her equally lovely family were a joy to work with. This is a family full of love and I am so glad I could help them remember these moments before their second child is born.
Little Miss M was so adorable. I can't get over the beautiful blue eyes! I am sure she will love being a big sister.

She needed a little Mommy love in between taking photos.

The nursery was absolutely stunning, as was the rest of their home.

Just a quick snapshot of Miss M as she was hiding behind the baby's crib. What a little beauty.

This last picture is for Daddy. He really helped keep Miss M entertained as Mommy was getting her picture taken. Daddy and his other buddy, Addie dog.

There is nothing more special than a brand new baby. This gorgeous baby girl wanted to stay awake for most of her photo session. I much prefer wakeful baby pictures, so I was very happy. This little baby was tossing and turning in mommy's belly whenever daddy touched S belly. It was pretty amazing to feel and watch the baby's movement. Already recognizing the touch of mommy and daddy.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this wonderful family again...for a very special reason. A new baby is on the way and the mommy to be is so beautiful. She and I spent hours just chatting, and posing and photographing and chatting some more. Daddy helped keep the kids entertained in between getting their pictures taken. It was a wonderful afternoon and I can't wait to meet the newest member of this fantastic family.

I love their style, so modern and beautiful. The nursery is so warm and wonderful. The new baby will be so comfy.

I was so excited to come back up to the nursery at the end of our photo session. We found the light streaming through the window glowing on the crib. Children really are the "light" of our lives. I hope this image speaks to you as much as it does me.

We finished the afternoon by painting mommy's belly. The kids had so much fun picking out what color to paint her belly.

After a very successful 2009 for Studio B Photography, I have decided to have a web page designed. I am so excited and I found a wonderful web designer who has been amazing to work with. I will give her a shout out as soon as I get permission. Fun Sunny Day with a Great Family

The P family was so much fun to work with. The kids had a great time running around in the corn fields and finding fun places to take pictures. I love their blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. This little guy celebrated his 1st birthday with his family this weekend and they asked me to be a part of the fun. This is one lucky boy to have such wonderful parents and a great extended family. I love fall weddings. I had a great day with L and G and their amazing family. This couple has been together for 21 years and I had to ask, why now! I am sure they get asked that question pretty often! Mr. G is the most hysterical man I have ever met. You cannot be in his presense for more than 5 minutes without laughing hysterically. They were such a joy to work with and I hope the photos reflect the spirit of this family.

The anticipation of the day begins with the bride getting ready...look at her flawless skin!

Sweet little J was so adorable. She didn't like the camera very much, but I got a couple of cute shots. She was wearing the most beautiful handmade jacket made by her grandmother. It was a good thing she had it on because the day was crisp...but that smile sure warmed my heart.
